Crock Of Hits

Crock Of Hits is the first best-of of The Darkness's career, chosen and sequenced by the band themselves, and Warner Music's release is dated 27 November 2026. It draws on all eight studio albums, from the 2003 debut Permission to Land to Dreams on Toast in 2025, and makes room for the 2003 Christmas single "Christmas Time (Don't Let The Bells End)". Announcing it, Justin Hawkins joked that a best-of the band had picked themselves could only be the best of the best (official site). The title first came out on 22 May 2026, when the band released "Masters Of The Universe", their theme for the film of that name (Blabbermouth); the date, label, formats and track lists followed in the official announcement of 5 September. Justin and Dan Hawkins wrote the theme, Dan produced it with the film's composer Daniel Pemberton, and its full version closes the single CD. The formats are a single CD, three CDs, a double LP, a single LP exclusive to Blood Records, and digital. The three-CD edition adds live recordings, a BBC session and a new version of "Masters Of The Universe" featuring Queen's Brian May, for forty-three tracks. The announcement of 5 September also named a small launch show at London's Moth Club on 17 September and a UK arena tour in December. The running order here is the single CD's as printed.
