Second Coming

Second Coming, out on 26 March 2013, is also not a new album. Fourteen of its sixteen tracks are re-recordings of early material, with two songs written fresh for the release — two drawn from The Yellow and Black Attack, six from Soldiers Under Command and six from To Hell With the Devil. Michael Sweet gave two reasons for re-cutting them: to take out the middle men and hold more of their own songs themselves, and to fix mixes that had bothered them — he pointed to the debut EP having no bass in it. The original four-man line-up played on it. It is also the first record of a label move. Frontiers Records announced a multi-album deal on 14 January 2013 with this as the opening release, and the relationship was extended in March 2021. It sold around 4,400 copies in its first US week and entered the Billboard 200 at No. 117.
