Take Me Back to Eden is the third studio album by the anonymous English band Sleep Token. It was recorded at Treehouse Studios and released by Spinefarm Records on 19 May 2023, the first of their albums produced by Carl Bown rather than George Lever.
It was presented as part three of a trilogy, the chapter that closes the story begun in earnest on the debut Sundowning. The songs draw on funk, electronic music, pop, R&B, alternative metal, progressive metal, djent, metalcore and blues.
The singles arrived in an unusual burst. "Chokehold" and "The Summoning" came out on consecutive days, 5 and 6 January 2023, followed by "Granite" on the 19th and "Aqua Regia" on the 20th. The band's audience rose sharply in those weeks: reportedly fewer than 300,000 monthly listeners on Spotify at the start of January and more than 1.58 million by the end of it. "Vore" was announced as the fifth single on 16 February, the same day the album title and release date were revealed, and "DYWTYLM" followed as a sixth pre-release track on 23 April. Critics were divided -- Metacritic averaged 60 from seven reviews -- while Emma Wilkes gave it five stars in NME. It ended the year on many best-of lists and was Spotify's most streamed metal album of 2023. The order here is the twelve tracks of the European digipak CD, SPINE800055P.
