Mask of Sanity

Mask of Sanity was cut at the Leon studio outside Stuttgart by Achim Köhler and Samson Geiger, and released on 19 January 2007 — on MTM Music rather than on Nuclear Blast, whose contract with the band had run from 1998. The sessions brought together Tom Naumann, keyboard player Frank Rössler, Metalium's Matte Lange and the former Primal Fear drummer Klaus Sperling. Christof Leim of the Traceelords was added as a second guitarist for a show in Reichenbach that October, on a bill that also had Primal Fear on it. Naumann left the band in 2006 for health reasons, and has called that his low point in four decades around it. "Black" and "Diary of Evil" both got videos. Super Sonic released the Japanese edition on 24 January 2007, adding "Baby Please Don't Go" and an enhanced video clip of "Diary of Evil".
