Brotherhood was the band's first album for Atomic Fire Records, made by the four-piece of Mat Sinner, Tom Naumann, Alex Scholpp and Markus Kullmann.
It was finished without the man whose name is on the band. With the songs written and tracking due in May 2021, Mat Sinner was hospitalised with a pulmonary oedema and heart trouble. Tom Naumann has said that Mat phoned him from there and handed him the job of completing the record, and that he felt deeply honoured to be asked.
Basi Roeder recorded it at Backyard Studios with Mitch Kunz at Apollo 13 Audio, and Jacob Hansen mixed and mastered it at Hansen Studios in Denmark. It reached No. 12 on the official German album chart — the highest Sinner has ever placed, and, like every other Sinner entry, gone again after a single week. The physical editions carry a cover of the Killers' "When You Were Young" as a twelfth track; Ward Records, which handles Japan, is explicit that this is a worldwide bonus and not a Japan-only extra.
