Welcome to the Madhouse
Welcome to the Madhouse finds SHY in a phase that brings Shy's established melodic-hard-rock instincts into a tougher sound with more distinctly 1990s shade.

Liner Notes
Welcome to the Madhouse is a work on which SHY sounded the melodic-hard sense they had cultivated since the 1980s with harder guitar and a 1990s-style shading. Tony Mills’s high, powerful singing leads thick arrangement including keyboards, supporting hook-focused songwriting. It is an ambitious record that responded to the change of the times.
On “Crazy Crazy,” “It's Only Rock n Roll” and “Angel,” behind bright choruses there is a somewhat heavy rhythm and shadowed harmony, so they do not end as mere nostalgia. Songs like “Parasite” and “Girls Like You” breathe the band’s full playing too. While faithfully keeping the character of British melodic rock, they changed the outline of the sound to match the times. In the clarity of the singing and the change of layers made by guitar and keyboards, there is an appeal unique to this period. It is a record that shows the expressiveness of a mature band.
