Liner Notes
Light in the Dark is the second album, and the one on which Revolution Saints moved from project toward actual band. In the spring of 2017, mid-way through recording in Italy, the three stopped and walked onto the stage of Frontiers Rock Festival IV in Milan — their first ever live show, three years after forming. Alessandro Del Vecchio produced again, and the line-up did not move: Deen Castronovo (vocals and drums), Jack Blades (bass), Doug Aldrich (guitar).
There are eleven tracks. From the title track into “Freedom” and “Ride On,” the players lock together noticeably more deeply than before. “Freedom” is where Castronovo's faith surfaces most openly, closing on a reading from Ezekiel 20:13. Through the six-minute build of “I Wouldn't Change a Thing,” the hook of “Take You Down” and the closing “Falling Apart,” the whiff of assembly has thinned. The deluxe edition adds four live tracks from Milan plus a DVD carrying a making-of documentary and videos for “Light in the Dark” and “I Wouldn't Change a Thing.” It placed eighth on Dr. Music's album of the year list for 2017.
