The thirteenth studio album, funded in part by a Kickstarter campaign the band launched in October 2014 with a $15,000 target that ended up taking more than $27,000. SPV/Steamhammer staggered the release across territories in April 2015 — Scandinavia on the 22nd, Germany the 24th, the rest of Europe the 27th and North America the 28th. Kevin 131, who had worked on Walk Through Fire, engineered it.
Several tracks have documented backstories. The backing vocals and chanting on "Battle March/Tank Treads" come from John Gallagher's son, a guitarist named after Rory Gallagher. "Thunder Down Under" is a deliberate tribute to Bon Scott, whom Gallagher met along with Angus and Malcolm Young after an AC/DC show at the Newcastle Mayfair. The bonus track "Malice In Geordieland" is sung entirely in Geordie dialect at Joe Hasselvander's suggestion, and name-checks the Mayfair Ballroom and other haunts of the brothers' youth.
It is also the last Raven studio album with Hasselvander behind the kit. Backers of the campaign received the covers album Party Killers as their reward.
