The Atlantic Years 1984-1990 gathers RATT's five Atlantic albums in a five-CD clamshell box from HNE Recordings, a Cherry Red label: Out of the Cellar (1984), Invasion of Your Privacy (1985), Dancing Undercover (1986), Reach for the Sky (1988) and Detonator (1990), with bonus tracks. MVD, the American distributor, gives 27 March 2020 as its street date, and Cherry Red re-pressed it under the same catalogue number and barcode in June 2025.
The seven bonus tracks are the single edits of "Round and Round", "What You Give Is What You Get" and "Dance", "Way Cool Jr." from MTV Unplugged, two Ratt Fonic mixes of "Lovin' You's a Dirty Job", and "Nobody Rides for Free" from the Point Break soundtrack. The label recalls that Out of the Cellar, the album the band signed to Atlantic for in 1984, went triple platinum, with the videos for "Round and Round" and "Back for More" in heavy MTV rotation; that Reach for the Sky was the last album Beau Hill produced for them; and that Detonator, their last for Atlantic and the last with the classic line-up, has Jon Bon Jovi singing backing vocals on "Heads I Win, Tails You Lose". Fifty-eight tracks in all.
