LINER NOTES
LANGUAGE
The fifth album was released by Universal in 2005. It was recorded at Teldex Studio in Berlin, produced by Jacob Hellner, and runs forty-eight minutes.
It includes six songs written for the previous album, Reise, Reise, and left off it. Its working title was Reise, Reise Volume Two; the title Rosenrot was announced on 18 August 2005.
The sleeve is a slightly altered photograph of the icebreaker USS Atka, taken on 13 March 1960 at McMurdo Station on the Ross Ice Shelf in Antarctica.
It went to number one in Germany, Austria and Finland, two in Denmark, Sweden and Switzerland, three in Flanders, four in the Netherlands and Norway, five in France, forty-seven on the Billboard 200 and thirteen on Billboard's rock chart. The singles were "Benzin", "Rosenrot" and "Mann gegen Mann".
The sources disagree about the release date - the English Wikipedia gives the year alone and MusicBrainz 14 October - so the year alone is recorded here. The running order given here is the original pressing's.
