Rage for Order

Rage for Order is an ambitious second album on which Queensrÿche boldly evolves traditional heavy metal into a more abstract, futuristic sound. Around Geoff Tate’s high, precise high vocal, sharp guitar, cold electronic texture and complex rhythm create an extremely taut, distinctive space. For its time, a very advanced, experimental sound approach stands out. The sharply piling “Walk in the Shadows” and a cover of “Gonna Get Close to You,” with its cold, uneasy air, well show the band’s character particular to this period, while the drama of “The Killing Words” and cuts like “Neue Regel” and “I Dream in Infrared” deepen the work’s tension-filled world.
