Anything Worth Doing Is Worth Overdoing was released by Massacre Records on June 7, 1999, the eighth studio album. The title sets the scale; eleven songs follow it. The opener, "Snakes in Eden," is the best-known thing here. The band re-recorded it for Louder Than Ever in 2014 and it stayed in the set; "With These Eyes" got the same treatment, so two songs from this record are ones Pretty Maids never let go of. "Destination Paradise" and "Hell on High Heels" drive the first half on speed before "When the Angels Cry" pulls the tempo down. The title track sits at the centre, and "Face Me" and "Loveshine" close. By now the line-up had settled: Ronnie Atkins and Ken Hammer at the core, with Michael Fast and Kenn Jackson as the rhythm section — the most stable configuration of the whole Massacre period. The album itself is on no streaming service as of 2026, and reaches present-day listeners only through those two re-recordings.
