LINER NOTES
LANGUAGE
Symbol of Life, the ninth album, came out on 21 October 2002 as the band's first for GUN / Supersonic Records, catalogue 74321 96178 2. Rhys Fulber produced it, Greg Reely recorded and mixed it, Kai Blankenberg mastered it, and Chris Elliott arranged the strings. The line-up is Nick Holmes on vocals, Gregor Mackintosh on lead guitar, Aaron Aedy on rhythm guitar, Steve Edmondson on bass and Lee Morris on drums. It was the last studio album for Morris, who had played with the band since 1994 and left in March 2004. According to the band's own site, the limited digipak edition adds two covers as bonus tracks, Dead Can Dance's "Xavier" and Bronski Beat's "Small Town Boy". Marquee, the Japanese label, writes that the band came back to the metal they had moved far away from on Host, during their EMI years, with the album after this one, in 2005; this record stands between the two. The track list here is the original eleven; the player on this page carries thirteen, with the two covers.
