Draconian Times

This is the fifth album by a band from Halifax that began in death-doom, and it polishes the direction they had found on Icon. Daevid Jehnzen of AllMusic placed it between stark, oppressive goth rock and crunching heavy metal, and singled out their ability to create a mood and then sustain it. "The Last Time" and "Forever Failure" were issued as singles; both were given videos and both charted. A song called "Another Desire" was written during the sessions but appears neither on the album nor on its reissues — it went onto the "Forever Failure" single instead. The band played the album in full on the 2011 live record Draconian Times MMXI. It has also been packaged with Shades of God and Icon in a box called Original Album Classics. The running order here is the original's as printed.
