White Devil Armory

White Devil Armory, the seventeenth album, came out on Nuclear Blast in Europe on 18 July 2014 as NB 3214-2 and on eOne Music in North America on the 22nd. King Records issued the Japanese edition (KICP-1700) earlier still, on the 16th, adding "The Fight Song" and "Miss Misery". The release had been planned for March and moved to July. It was tracked at Gear Recording and produced by the band, and Greg Reely mixed and mastered it, as he had the previous album. The title came from D.D. Verni's fixation on the word "Armory", in front of which Ellsworth wrote "White Devil"; he had jotted it down on a phone bill. Ellsworth took the title "King of the Rat Bastards" from something he saw on the internet. The record opens with "XDM", an introduction of under a minute, and Kevin J. Custer directed the videos for "Bitter Pill" and "Armorist". It sold about 8,400 copies in its first week in the United States and entered the Billboard 200 at number 31, the highest placing of the band's career. It reached number twenty in Germany. The player on this page plays the thirteen-track edition with the two extra songs; the running order here follows the eleven-track original.
