ReliXIV

ReliXIV, the thirteenth album, came out on Regain Records in Europe on 21 March 2005 as RR 058 and on Spitfire Records in the United States the next day. The Japanese edition (CRCL-4602) had appeared on Nippon Crown about four weeks earlier, on 23 February. The cover prints the title in capitals as RELIXIV. It was recorded and mixed at Gear Recording Studio, mixed by Jon D'Uva with the band, with D.D. Verni and Dave Linsk among the engineers. It is the last album with drummer Tim Mallare, who had played on every record since I Hear Black in 1993 and left in May 2005; Ron Lipnicki, formerly of Hades, replaced him. In a 2012 interview Ellsworth named it among the albums he has regrets about, for the sound. It had sold 15,500 copies in the United States by October 2007. The Japanese edition adds a live recording of "Coma" as a bonus track. Spotify misspells the album's name as "RELIXV", but the player on this page plays these ten songs. The running order here is the original's as printed.
