Overkill

Overkill is a studio album released on 24 March 1979, the band's first for Bronze, catalogue number BRON 515. The players are Lemmy Kilmister on bass and vocals, Eddie Clarke on guitar and Phil Taylor on drums; it was recorded between December 1978 and January 1979 and produced by Jimmy Miller and Neil Richmond. Ten tracks. Of the double bass drums that open the title song, Lars Ulrich of Metallica has said that Phil Taylor was the first drummer he ever heard play that way, and that hearing Overkill made him want to play like that too. Lemmy plays a bass solo on "Stay Clean" and the second guitar solo on "Limb from Limb". The album reached No. 24 on the Official Albums Chart. Official music videos exist for four songs: "Overkill", "Stay Clean", "No Class" and "Capricorn". Teichiku's Metal Mania imprint issued the Japanese pressing on 21 July 1989 as 18DN-37.
