Motörhead

Motörhead is the band's debut album, released on 21 August 1977 by Chiswick as WIK 2. With On Parole still shelved, this is the record the three-piece of Lemmy Kilmister on bass and vocals, Eddie Clarke on guitar and Phil Taylor on drums made instead. It was recorded in April 1977 at Escape Studios in Kent and produced by Speedy Keen. Eight tracks. The opener "Motörhead" and "The Watcher", seventh, are songs Lemmy had written in his Hawkwind years and had already recorded for On Parole, and the album closes with a cover of "The Train Kept a-Rollin'". It reached No. 43 on the Official Albums Chart. Teichiku issued a Japanese pressing on 21 February 1990 as TECP-22128, and Imperial Records International another in 2010 as TECI-23605.
