From The Beginning

From The Beginning is a Mötley Crüe hits collection released by BMG, drawing on recordings made between 1981 and 2025. The main disc opens with "Live Wire", the band's first single released internationally, moves through "Shout At The Devil", "Girls, Girls, Girls" and "Kickstart My Heart", and ends on "Dogs Of War" from the 2024 EP Cancelled and a newly recorded "Home Sweet Home" sung with Dolly Parton — nineteen songs, ten of them remasters according to diskunion, five done in 2021 and five in 2024. diskunion credits the remix to Chris Lord-Alge. "Home Sweet Home" comes from Theatre of Pain, released in 1985. In the note on its YouTube upload the band call singing it with Dolly Parton for the song's fortieth anniversary a highlight of their career, and say that part of the proceeds from the new version go to Covenant House. The video is on the band's channel; That Eric Alper reports that it is built as an homage to the 1985 original. BMG released the collection on 12 September 2025 on CD, LP and digital. Universal Music Japan followed on 24 October with a two-disc SHM-CD, UICB-15004/5. Its Japan-only bonus disc adds "Afraid", "Cancelled" — the title song of the 2024 EP — "Angela" and "Anarchy In The UK", together with live versions of "Live Wire", "Dr. Feelgood" and "Kickstart My Heart", bringing the set to twenty-six tracks and about one hour fifty-three minutes.
