LINER NOTES
LANGUAGE
Kurt Ballou of Converge recorded it, and Drew Lamond and Steve Wright mixed and mastered. The band is Adam Jarvis on drums, Mark Kloppel on guitar and vocals, Jason Netherton on bass and vocals and Sparky Voyles on guitar; Guy Kozowyk of The Red Chord sings on "Partisans of Grief" and Tomas Lindberg of At the Gates on "Ruling Class Cancelled". A video was made for "Traitors".
Scott Alisoglu, reviewing it for Blabbermouth.net, found the songs more varied and the writing better than on Discordia before it, and noted an increased sense of melody. Cosmo Lee of Pitchfork Media said Ballou had achieved "a sound falling somewhere between 'battering ram' and 'machine gun'", called the album a "thought-provoking package" and pointed to lyrical themes running from criticism of the United States government to celebrity worship.
Greg Prato of AllMusic wrote that the band "keep things as precise, tight, and brutal as possible from start to finish" and called the record "a complete sonic assault". In November 2008 Terrorizer named it its album of the month. The running order here is the original's as printed.
