LINER NOTES
LANGUAGE
This is the first album by a band that started in Chicago in 1981. Arista issued it in 1983; the LP catalogue number is AL 6-8016 and the later CD ARCD-8016.
Nine songs, from Effigy (I'm Not An) to She's Got a Cause. The band's own biography calls this period polished electro-pop and places it directly after Special Affect, the punk band Al Jourgensen was in during the late 1970s.
Three years later Twitch turned the band towards industrial music, and the sound moved a long way from this starting point. Even so, announcing the final album in 2026, Jourgensen said he was proud of what he had accomplished since the 1983 debut. Sources disagree on the day of release, so only the year is given here. The running order here is the original release's as printed.
