Liner Notes
Under Fire, released in March 1998, is the third album, gathering powerful vocals, thick guitar and clear choruses. The songs have an orthodox frame while a British melancholy seeps into the vocal lines. This one, though, took three years to get from finished to released: the legal battles with the record company dragged on.
Tyketto's guitarist Brooke St. James came in, with Graham Collett and Michael O'Brien alongside. It plays on the heat of the songs and the band's unity rather than on flashy technique. From the opening “Lonely Tonight” to the title track, eleven songs to recommend to anyone after hard rock with muscle you can sing. But the three-year gap was fatal and sales did not move at all; the clock had gone on without them. The band folded here and Grimmett founded Pride. The Japanese edition adds “Lost in Tokyo” — ironically enough, the country in that title was the place that supported them to the last. Their 1993 Japanese shows later surfaced as the live album Rising Sons – Live in Japan 1993, a cheerful record of one night with some Grim Reaper songs mixed in.
