Red Planet Boulevard

Red Planet Boulevard is a work on which Lana Lane drew a space-evoking breadth through rich keyboards, flowing guitar and soaring singing. While the songs have progressive elements, at the center is an accessible melody. Subject matter with a Mars motif gives the work a distinctive sense of scale. On “Into the Fire,” “Capture the Sun” and “Red Planet Boulevard,” from the title track to the ballads, the album carries emotion with colorful arrangement. Songs like “The Frozen Sea,” “Shine” and “Angels and Magicians” breathe the work’s full expression too. It is content that elegantly crossed the boundary of AOR and progressive rock. It is a full record on which Lana Lane’s soaring voice swims serenely through a grand sound world.
