Generation Goodbye

The fifth album, number 14 in Germany and 59 in Switzerland — the point at which their standing in Europe became clear. Two videos went out ahead of it, "Hashtag Your Life" on 27 May 2016 and "If Clocks Were Running Backwards" on 17 June, and the title track got an official lyric video on 4 July. The eleven songs hold to one combination throughout: arena rock written for mass singing, with lyrics that take modern life lightly. "Hashtag Your Life" is the clearest case, and "Somebody to Hate" and "Larger Than Life" look from the same angle. "Masterpiece" was performed again on the following year's live album as a duet with Jennifer Haben of Beyond the Black, which settled its place in the set for good. King Records released the Japanese edition on its Seven Seas line as KICP-1787 on 7 June 2016, a month before the international release, running to twelve songs with "All Are Equal" added.
