Addicted to Metal

The second album, again produced by Elephant Music, and again twelve songs. Udo Dirkschneider of Accept and U.D.O. guests on the title track; the band had opened for U.D.O. several times by then, so the pairing came out of a working relationship rather than a press idea. It reached number 91 in Germany, the first chart placing of their career. The writing is more sharply drawn than on the debut. As titles like "Supersonic Killer", "In the Name of the Iron Fist" and "Metal Nation" advertise, the record takes the vocabulary of 1980s heavy metal and hard rock head on and thickens it with layered choruses. "In the Name of the Iron Fist" got an official clip. EMI issued the Japanese edition on 7 July 2010 as TOCP-66957, running to fifteen songs with "Freaky", "My Religion" and "Lie for Me" added. Two of those three come from the debut, Steel of Swabia, which made this the first substantial introduction the band had in Japan.
