This is the fourth studio album, released by Relativity on 21 July 1992 as 88561-1053-2, ten tracks. It reached number 22 on the Billboard 200 and stayed 28 weeks, which is Satriani's highest placing, and it was certified Gold on 22 December 1992. The Japanese edition, SRCS 5940, came out on 23 July with eleven tracks, adding Crazy.
Three singles reached Billboard's Mainstream Rock chart: Summer Song at number 5, Friends at 12 and Cryin' at 24. Summer Song has stayed in his live set ever since, and it spread fast after Sony used it in a large advertising campaign for the Discman and the Walkman; it also turned up on the soundtracks of Formula 1 for the PlayStation in 1996 and Gran Turismo 4 for the PlayStation 2 in 2004.
Rubina's Blue Sky Happiness is dedicated to his wife Rubina, the second song named for her after Rubina on Not of This Earth. Two B-sides from these sessions, Crazy and Banana Mango II, together with the outtakes Thinking of You, Speed of Light and Baroque, were released on the double album Time Machine the following year. The album was nominated for Best Rock Instrumental Performance at the 1993 Grammy Awards, his fourth nomination. The running order here is the import CD's as printed.
