LINER NOTES
LANGUAGE
Use Your Illusion I & II (Super Deluxe) remasters, for the first time, the two albums GUNS N' ROSES released together on 17 September 1991, which entered the Billboard 200 at numbers two and one, on seven CDs and a Blu-ray. Geffen and UMe issued it on 11 November 2022, the albums remastered from 96kHz/24-bit transfers of the original stereo half-inch analogue master tapes.
The first two CDs carry the albums, the third and fourth the Ritz Theatre in New York on 16 May 1991, and the fifth to seventh the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas on 25 January 1992, both shows newly mixed from the multitrack tapes. The Ritz show was one of the warm-up dates before the tour, with Izzy Stradlin on guitar and Shannon Hoon of Blind Melon singing on the original "Don't Cry" and on "You Ain't the First"; Las Vegas features the band's new guitarist Gilby Clarke. The Blu-ray presents the complete Ritz concert film, newly transferred from 35mm prints in 4K. The box adds a 100-page hardcover book, replica fan-club material, lithos, photo prints, replica backstage passes, a replica Ritz ticket that keeps the original misprinted date, and a poster; the CDs carry 77 tracks.
