Full Circle

Full Circle, released by Bluez Tone Records on 2 June 2017, is Great White's thirteenth studio album and the one that took the band back to Michael Wagener, the producer of its first EP, Out of the Night, issued by Aegean Records in 1983, and of its debut album for EMI in 1984. The reunion was presented as a tribute to those beginnings. The album was recorded in January and February 2017 at Wagener's WireWorld Studio in Nashville, and Wagener also mixed and mastered it. Terry Ilous sang, as he had on Elation, and the core songwriting team was again lead guitarist Mark Kendall, guitarist and keyboard player Michael Lardie and Ilous, working closely with drummer Audie Desbrow and bassist Scott Snyder; the sleeve credits every song to Great White. The first single was "Big Time". The track list announced in April 2017 ran to ten songs, ending with "I've Got Your Back", but the CD as released has nine, from "I'm Alright" to "Never Let You Down". Kendall thanked the fans who had stayed with the band for decades and reflected on how long it had been since they last worked with Wagener. The package includes a DVD, The Making of Full Circle, produced by Todd Sadowski for Rockslide Entertainment, which follows the band as the songs take shape in the studio; it was the first time in its career that Great White had shown its fans how one of its records was made. In July 2018 the band replaced Ilous with Mitch Malloy, leaving Elation and Full Circle as the two Great White albums Ilous sang on. Malloy was followed in 2022 by Andrew Freeman and then by Brett Carlisle. In March 2026 Kendall still called Full Circle the band's latest album, explaining that the Malloy line-up had made a live album but no studio record.
