Liner Notes
Mr. Moonlight is the eighth album, on which Foreigner after Lou Gramm's return again drew big melody, centered on powerful vocals and Mick Jones's guitar. Around Gramm and Jones, a new rhythm section joined: Jeff Jacobs (keyboards), Bruce Turgon (bass) and Mark Schulman (drums). The sound is tightly arranged in a 1990s way, but the band's inherent approachability remains in the songwriting.
On songs like "Until the End of Time" and "White Lie," the sentiment of ballads and the push of rock songs interweave. On "Until the End of Time," the master Duane Eddy guesting on guitar is a highlight. Rather than imitating past success, by pulling it together as mature AOR / hard rock, there is a relaxed warmth. This became the band's last studio album for a while. A record that quietly conveys the will of the regathered lineup.
