Transgression

Transgression appeared in August 2005 on Calvin Records, on the 22nd in Britain and the 23rd in North America, with Victor issuing the Japanese edition on 16 September as VICP-63143. Toby Wright produced it with Burton C. Bell. Bell sings, Christian Olde Wolbers plays guitar and bass, Byron Stroud plays bass and Raymond Herrera plays drums; Dino Cazares is not on it. It is the second album by that line-up and turned out to be the last with Herrera and Wolbers, both of whom were left out of the band when Cazares returned in April 2009. Two of the songs are covers: the ninth, "I Will Follow", is U2's, and the tenth, "Millennium", is Killing Joke's. It reached number forty-five on the American Billboard 200, six on the independent chart, twenty-six in Australia, thirty-seven in Germany and seventy-seven in Britain. "Supernova" and "Moment of Impact" were the singles, with the title track following in 2006. Wolbers himself has since disowned the record, saying he is not proud of it at all. Eleven songs; the running order here is that of the North American Calvin pressing, CV-037.
