Goliath, their twelfth studio album, came out on 20 March 2026 and was their first for Napalm Records. Rob Dukes sings on it — his first studio album with the band since 2010's Exhibit B: The Human Condition. The band produced it themselves; Mark Lewis mixed and mastered it.

The 2024 live album British Disaster: The Battle of '89 comes from a concert at the Astoria in London on 8 March 1989, a headline show on the Fabulous Disaster tour. The multitrack reels from that night sat unreleased for thirty-five years.

Two versions of the video for 3111, the first single from Goliath, exist because YouTube flagged the original repeatedly: one cut edited down for that platform, and an uncensored one the band put on a site of its own. Jim Louvau, who also directed their 2021 video for The Fires Of Division, made it.

Goliath is described as the most collaborative record of the band's career, with songs brought in by several members. By Gary Holt's account, Lee Altus wrote four of the ten. Peter Tägtgren (Hypocrisy, Pain) guests on The Changing Me and the violinist Katie Jacoby plays on the title track.

The Toxic Waltz, the song that became shorthand for the pit, started out as a parody of the dance crazes of the 1950s and 1960s. By Steve “Zetro” Souza's account the idea came from a late-night television advertisement for a compilation of oldies dance records.

Gary Holt played guitar solos on most of the twelve tracks of Slayer's 2015 album Repentless, but wrote none of the music on it. Kerry King later explained the reasoning: he did not think Slayer's audience was ready for another guitarist to be credited as a writer on the first record made without Jeff Hanneman.

Blood In, Blood Out, the 2014 album that gave them their highest US chart placing at number 38, was recorded at a ranch belonging to the drummer Tom Hunting. Andy Sneap, whose credits include Megadeth and Testament, produced it.

The title 3111 is the number of killings recorded in Ciudad Juárez, Mexico, in the single year of 2010. The lyrical idea came from Gary Holt and Rob Dukes; Lee Altus led the music.

Let There Be Blood (2008) is a complete re-recording of their 1985 debut Bonded by Blood. By Gary Holt's account the idea had been with him since they made a live album back in 1997.

When Let There Be Blood was made, only two of the people who had played on the original Bonded by Blood were still in the band: Gary Holt and the drummer Tom Hunting.

In re-recording the songs the tempos were pushed up and the slower ones made heavier. Tom Hunting asked Holt whether they ought to rehearse first; Holt's view was that they had been playing this material for twenty years and did not need to.

In order of joining, the drummer Tom Hunting was in the band before Gary Holt — Holt says so himself.

The riff for The Toxic Waltz was Gary Holt's, and so was the title. What he asked Souza for was a lyric about what the audience actually did at their shows.
