British Disaster: The Battle of '89 (Live at the Astoria) is a concert from March 1989, played at the Astoria in London and issued thirty-five years afterwards. Nuclear Blast released it on 31 May 2024, with the Japanese pressing on Ward Records (JAN 4571614700144). One CD, fifteen songs, about an hour and seventeen minutes.
The band had just come through Pleasures of the Flesh (1987) and Fabulous Disaster (1989). One live record already existed from the same year — Good Friendly Violent Fun (1991), which took eight songs from a July show in San Francisco — and the difference here is that all fifteen songs played that night are present.
The set is drawn from the first three albums. It opens with ‘The Last Act of Defiance’ and takes in ‘Fabulous Disaster’, ‘The Toxic Waltz’, ‘A Lesson in Violence’, ‘Piranha’, ‘Deliver Us to Evil’ and ‘Strike of the Beast’. Zeus mixed and mastered the release.
