Hellfire Club is a work on which EDGUY combined driving rhythm, thick guitar and theatrical choruses on a large scale. Balancing speed and weight, the songs always head toward bright, memorable melody. Pushing the previous album’s direction further, it is a record that clinched the band’s popularity. On “Mysteria,” “The Piper Never Dies” and “King of Fools,” hooks that invite big sing-alongs and arrangements that sometimes show playfulness move the whole album along colorfully. A comical song like “Lavatory Lovemachine” well expresses the band’s sense of humor. Songs like “We Don't Need a Hero” and “Navigator” breathe the band’s full playing too. Grandly enjoying the power-metal style and widening the band’s presence a further notch, it is a full record.
