LINER NOTES
LANGUAGE
Holy War is DRAGONLAND's second album, released in 2002, and the second chapter of the ongoing Dragonland Chronicles saga; its story continues directly from the debut, The Battle of the Ivory Plains.
It was recorded and mixed at Studio Fredman in Gothenburg, the studio associated with producer Fredrik Nordström, and mastered at Athens Mastering. This is where DRAGONLAND's long connection with Studio Fredman and Nordström begins, a thread that runs on to the fourth album, Astronomy, and all the way to the 2026 record Prophecies.
The core line-up was Jonas Heidgert (vocals and drums), Nicklas Magnusson (lead guitar) and Olof Mörck (lead and acoustic guitar), with Elias Holmlid's keyboards colouring the sound. The album was released by the Greek label Black Lotus Records (BLR/CD 036).
A Japanese edition appeared on Hot Rockin' (HRHM-2002) on 2 July 2002, and in December 2014 AFM Records reissued a remastered version with new cover artwork. The exact release date is unsettled across sources: Wikipedia gives 8 February 2002, while MusicBrainz lists the Black Lotus release as May 2002.
