Inhuman Rampage

The third album came out first in Japan, on Victor on 28 December 2005, and worldwide on Roadrunner Records on 9 January 2006; the band's own site dates it by the Japanese release. Just before it appeared they sold out a showcase at Club 1ne 2wo in Takadanobaba, Tokyo, and in June 2006 they made their first headline tour of Japan. It was recorded between March and September 2005 at Thin Ice Studios in Surrey and in London, and mixed by Karl Groom with Sam Totman, Herman Li and Vadim Pruzhanov. It is the first DragonForce album with harsh vocals, supplied by Lindsay Dawson of Demoniac. Bassist Adrian Lambert left in November 2005, before its release, and was succeeded by Frederic Leclercq. The sleeve credits Chie Kimoto, Daniel Bérard and Herman Li. Its opener, "Through the Fire and Flames", became famous as the hardest song in Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock and was certified platinum in the United States. The album itself was certified gold there and silver in Britain, and spent twenty-three weeks on the Billboard 200. Its twentieth anniversary is marked by a North American tour in November and December 2026 and a special set on the band's European tour in spring 2027.
