Liner Notes
Forward in Reverse, released in April 2016, is the third album, twenty years after the second. The return came in two stages. In 2010 the three of them went out on a reunion tour in the original line-up; it swelled to more than fifty dates across Denmark and Japan, and the response to the resulting Live in Concert 2010 made them consider coming back properly. The documentary on the band's history, Lost Inside a Dream, belongs to the same moment.
In October 2014 Christensen posted "DML2015" on Facebook and nothing else. Two days later the band corrected the framing: they were re-activated, not merely reunited, and they were writing new material. What was initially teased as an EP or a run of singles turned into a full album. It went straight to number one in Denmark. Dense guitar writing and heavy riffs are tied together tightly, and the arrangements — instrumentals included — leave the trio's playing exposed. It is not a re-creation of the past: it is the same three men twenty years later, looking from where they now stand.
