Liner Notes
Screw It! is the second album, on which Danger Danger built bright, flashy hard rock from Ted Poley’s clear singing, Andy Timmons’ vivid guitar and thick choruses. Recorded at New River Studios in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and produced by Ravel and West, it grows a notch heavier while putting catchiness first, adding interest through fine guitar moves and unexpected arrangements.
“Monkey Business” reached number 42 on the UK Singles Chart and, with “I Still Think About You,” was a single. On “Slipped Her the Big One,” Extreme’s Gary Cherone, Nuno Bettencourt and Pat Badger sing backing vocals. From Timmons’ fast solos to songs that carefully deliver melody, the album keeps a thoroughly hedonistic fun throughout. After the tour Kasey Smith left, and this became Poley’s last album with the band for some time. It packs the glittering, mischievous appeal of melodic rock just before the mood of the times shifted.
