Liner Notes
Danger Danger is the debut album of melodic hard rock, fitting together bouncing rhythm, glossy keyboards and instantly catchy choruses. Formed in Queens, New York, in 1986, the band — Ted Poley (vocals), Andy Timmons (guitar), Bruno Ravel (bass), Steve West (drums) and Kasey Smith (keyboards) — signed to Epic’s Imagine label and was produced by Lance Quinn, known for Bon Jovi and Lita Ford, recording in Philadelphia.
Ted Poley’s bright, soaring voice sharpens the band’s pop hooks further. “Naughty Naughty” aired on MTV’s Headbangers Ball and, with “Bang Bang,” cracked the US Top 100. From the power ballad “Don't Walk Away” and the driving “Rock America” to the AOR-leaning “One Step from Paradise,” guitar propulsion stays under the lightness. The band then toured with Kiss, Alice Cooper, Extreme and Warrant. Wrapped thickly in the air of the late 1980s, it runs to the finish on the sheer fun of the songs.
