Street Lethal is Crazy Lixx's seventh album, a Swedish glam metal record that charges ahead with cinematic drive and hook-packed choruses. Taking 80s action movies and martial arts as its motif, it opens with "Enter the Dojo" and races through a varied, dynamic sequence. Mixing was handled by Tobias Lindell, known for H.E.A.T and Europe. The lead single "Anthem for America" is an anthem that playfully sounds a "call to action" for youth who have drifted from rock. With the song, the band pays homage to the sound and groove of the great hair-metal anthems of the 80s and early 90s. From "Rise Above" to "Final Fury," songs that balance drive and hooks line up. With "Wild Child" featured in the Nicolas Cage film Willy's Wonderland, the band's profile steadily rose. The over-seven-minute closer "Thief in the Night" brings the album to a grand-scale finish. Danny Rexon's craft as a producer has matured, and its fruits are on full display here. An accomplished record full of momentum.
