Are You Dead Yet? is a work that foregrounded sharp guitar, flashy keyboards and Alexi Laiho’s rough singing. The weight of the riffs and the forward drive of the songs are stronger than before, leaving a strong impression in a short time. It is a record that stepped into a more modern sound with emphasized groove. On “Living Dead Beat,” “Are You Dead Yet?” and “In Your Face,” the splendor of the melody is not lost, with cold violence and a party feel coexisting. Songs like “Punch Me I Bleed,” “Bastards of Bodom” and “Trashed, Lost & Strungout” breathe the band’s full playing too. From this record, guitarist Roope Latvala joined.
