It was surprise-released on 24 May 2024 as the second instalment of the Post Human series after Post Human: Survival Horror of 2020, having originally been announced for 15 September 2023.
It is the band's first album since Amo in 2019, the longest gap of their career, and the last to feature keyboard player and supporting producer Jordan Fish, who left late in 2023. Aurora, Underoath, Lil Uzi Vert and Daryl Palumbo of Glassjaw guest on it.
The singles ran for nearly three years: "Die4u" on 16 September 2021, "Strangers" on 6 July 2022, "Lost" on 4 May 2023 and "Amen!", with Palumbo and Lil Uzi Vert, on 1 June. The album was announced that June for September, but on 24 August Oliver Sykes said unforeseen circumstances had left the band unable to finish it to a standard they were happy with. "Darkside" followed on 13 October, Fish's departure was announced on 22 December, and "Kool-Aid" arrived on 5 January 2024. The release date was given out on 23 May and the record appeared the next day, to mostly positive reviews.
