Life, Love & Hope is the sixth album, on which BOSTON depicted the virtues of the sound they cultivated over years, through layered choruses, transparent guitars and grandly opening melodies. On several songs one can hear the voice of Brad Delp — who died in 2007 — recorded before his death, alongside multiple vocalists including Tommy DeCarlo, David Victor, Kimberley Dahme and Fran Cosmo. Centered on Tom Scholz, it was released via Frontiers.
The breadth of "Heaven on Earth" and the warmth of the title track convey the power of song that suggests hope. On "Sail Away," Delp's voice is moving and forms the album's core. Including "Someone (2.0)," a reworking of a song from the previous album, it is a record marked by traces of a long production period. A record like a clear sky, where the warmth of classic rock and studio-honed sonic precision coexist.
