Liner Notes
Engines Of Demolition is a 2026 work on which BLACK LABEL SOCIETY refined its music around Southern-rock earthiness, doom-leaning weight and the weeping of bluesy guitar. The riffs surge thick and slow, and some songs have the tenacity of an engine crossing the wilderness. Zakk Wylde’s low, gruff singing does not over-decorate, leaving a tired humanity in the gaps of the heavy guitar.
On “Name In Blood,” “Gatherer Of Souls,” “Broken And Blind” and “Pedal To The Floor,” thick riffs and heavy groove come to the front. Contrary to the destructive title, the work is not mere roar but also values quiet melancholy and the afterglow of the solos. It is worth listening to the thickness of the distortion, the sway of the vibrato and the sense of the rhythm dragging slightly behind. Sounding earthiness and pride at once, it is a BLACK LABEL SOCIETY–style heavy-rock work that keeps pursuing a heavy sound at the front line even after a long career.
