Alaska

This is the first album by the line-up that lasted longest. Dustie Waring joined on guitar, Dan Briggs on bass and Blake Richardson on drums, and it held until Waring's dismissal in 2023. Tommy Giles Rogers sings and plays keyboards and Paul Waggoner plays lead guitar. The band co-produced it with Matthew Ellard, who had made The Silent Circus with them, and Jamie King, who had produced their self-titled album. King engineered, Ellard mixed, Alan Douches mastered, and Wes Richardson did the artwork and layout. It did not sell as well as its predecessor but was received far better by critics, and it holds some of the band's best-known songs, among them the title track and "Selkies: The Endless Obsession". Another version was issued carrying instrumental takes of most of the songs, leaving out tracks three, six and seven, and a video was made for "Alaska". The album was remixed and remastered in 2020.
