Liner Notes
METAL FORTH finds BABYMETAL celebrating its fifteenth anniversary not by repeating a proven formula, but by colliding directly with different branches of the global metal scene. Its title suggests movement beyond familiar definitions, and the guest list—Poppy, Electric Callboy, Slaughter to Prevail, Bloodywood, Polyphia, Spiritbox and Tom Morello—creates an unusually broad field of sound. Just as importantly, it is the first album to fully document the SU-METAL, MOAMETAL and MOMOMETAL line-up. The collaborations are prominent, yet every track is redirected through BABYMETAL’s choreography, melodic identity and theatrical world.
“from me to u” links digital-age cuteness with violent impact, while “RATATATA” turns EDM and metalcore into communal celebration. “Song 3” introduces deathcore pressure, “Kon! Kon!” brings Indian rhythmic color, “Sunset Kiss” floats over technical guitar detail, and “My Queen” creates a commanding exchange with Spiritbox. The independent core remains audible in “KxAxWxAxIxI,” “Algorism” and “White Flame,” while “METALI!!” reinforces the group’s instinct for audience participation. Rather than displaying international styles as separate exhibits, METAL FORTH translates them into a shared live language. The result is both a record of worldwide connections and a declaration that collaboration has become part of BABYMETAL’s next creative standard.
