Will to Power is the tenth album, on which ARCH ENEMY further widened their expressive range. It was made with the lineup of Alissa White-Gluz (vocals), Michael Amott (guitar), Jeff Loomis (guitar, formerly of NEVERMORE), Sharlee D'Angelo (bass) and Daniel Erlandsson (drums). It adds new color to the robust aggression of melodic death.
The powerful drive of "The World Is Yours," the catchy elation of "The Eagle Flies Alone" and the scale of the over-six-minute "A Fight I Must Win" show the band's fulfillment. "Reason to Believe," a ballad on which White-Gluz put clean vocals fully to the front for the first time, drew great attention as new ground. Loomis's virtuosity is razor-sharp too. An ambitious record balancing aggression and new expression.
