Liner Notes

Khaos Legions is a record ARCH ENEMY built around the core of the Amott brothers’ sharp twin guitars, Angela Gossow’s fierce vocals and heavy, precise rhythm, and it became the last original album with Gossow on vocals. Even within fierce material, weeping leads and memorable melodies breathe, and the band’s aesthetic of balancing aggression and melody runs throughout. On “Yesterday Is Dead And Gone,” “Under Black Flags We March,” “No Gods, No Masters” and “Bloodstained Cross,” racing riffs and stately melody interlock tightly, building melodic-death drama song by song. An instrumental like “Khaos Overture” giving the work a cinematic introduction is striking too. Letting you savor detailed playing and big hooks at once, it is a full record fit to cap the Gossow era.
