ENGRAVED

Engraved is Anthem's sixteenth studio album, released on 21 June 2017 by Universal Music Japan as UICN-9032. It is the second record by the line-up of Naoto Shibata, Akio Shimizu, Yukio Morikawa and Isamu Tamaru. The band had marked thirty years since their debut with a successful anniversary tour in 2015, and the album carries that momentum. "The Artery Song" appeared as a digital single on 31 May 2017, and the title track closes the album; the standard edition runs a few seconds under fifty minutes. The limited first pressing added video content: interviews with Naoto Shibata and with Chris Tsangarides, the producer of the band's early trilogy, who worked on the mix here. Tsangarides had handled every album from Bound To Break to Domestic Booty. Anthem toured Japan extensively after the release, and their own site calls this line-up the strongest in the band's history.
