All for You is the tenth album on which Annihilator, while keeping sharp guitar work and bold, surprising song developments, also powerfully foregrounds a more singable, melodic side. Welcoming the new vocalist Dave Padden, his expressive voice adds new appeal and steadiness to the band. The riffs move finely and freely, and the rhythm deftly evades the listener’s expectations, yet the songs always finally land on a sure hook. From the drama of the opening title track “All for You” and the aggression of “Dr. Psycho” to cuts like “Demon Dance,” “The Nightmare Factory” and “Rage Absolute,” aggressive thrash, sorrowful melody and technical playing fit extremely naturally within one album. Its appeal is fully using Jeff Waters’s broad musicality and clearly conveying Annihilator’s multifaceted appeal. It shows that the new lineup with Dave Padden was splendidly on track.
