Temple of Shadows is a work on which ANGRA combined high-speed guitar, classical arrangement, South American rhythmic feel and soaring singing to draw a large story. The expression changes with each song, but the tension of the melody and playing brings the whole into one world. Set in the era of the Crusades, it is a grand concept album.
On “Spread Your Fire,” “Angels and Demons” and “Wishing Well,” not only technical flamboyance but also the pathos of quiet scenes and the openness of the choruses are strong. Songs like “The Temple of Hate” and “Late Redemption” breathe the band’s full playing too. Varied guests also take part, adding thickness to the story. Edu Falaschi’s expressive singing leads the grand story. Widening the form of power metal with rich color, it is a record representative of ANGRA’s creativity.
